Hi I’m having issues with video on my mobo. I do have a gpu connected. But still no video. I just bought the mobo today and installed my gtx dual 1060 6gb. My card worked w my B350 pc mate board but it won’t work w my x470 prime pro. Wat am I doin wrong ?

I have Asus Prime x470 pro and 2700x. MB came with first ever BIOS v 0222 and 2700x worked on it with no problems. Last BIOS is 4011 but one before it, 4008 is much better.
Processor doesn't have a GPU so trying without dedicated GPU there's no chance. Any PCIe GPU would do.
Some other possibilities, what about RAM ? Single stick should go to A2 slot and dual in slots A2 and B2. Without RAM in proper slots it will not boot up or show a picture on screen.

When I build a system, I assemble the CPU, RAM, & PSU. Then I use the integrated graphics and the video output on the motherboard to see if it boots up. Then I assemble the rest of the system. Then load the operating system. And lastly I install the graphics card after verifying that everything else works.

So, not being able to use the integrated graphics throws a wrench in the way I normally build a PC.

Without any motherboard diagnostics or monitor, it is going to be difficult to narrow it down. From my understanding, the only new parts are the motherboard and processor.

Can you install the old processor in the new motherboard? If it works with the old processor, then you can return the 2700X.

Alternately you can install the the old processor in the old motherboard (assuming it works) then load the latest BIOS. And then install the 2700X in the old motherboard. That will test all of the parts together other than the new motherboard. And you said that the graphics card worked with the old motherboard.

That would isolate the problem to the new motherboard, and get your PC running in the mean time.

Well the b350 pc mate I had to RMA. I have Ryzen 5 1600 chip which also doesn’t allow integrated graphics. So I’m not sure if that chip would work either. I’m using an AIO TT floe riing 360 RGB.

I called Asus and while I was on the phone w them. I tried it and yea didn’t work. They told me that my ram isn’t on there QVL list and compatibility could be an issue. That sometimes ram that isn’t on that list might or might not work. Well in my case. Yea it didn’t work. They also checked my bios and it’s up to date with my Ryzen 7 2700x. So from wat it looks like. Incompatible ram is the issue. I could be wrong but. I also talked to Newegg and they said the mobo is brand new from the manufacturer and not refurbed. So my conclusion is possible defective mobo or ram incompatibility. Those are the only conclusions I could come up with.

I knew it didn’t. But on there site said my ram was supported. But wat I didn’t know was it wasn’t in the QVL LIST. It’s my fault

Actually there is a difference between a support list and a qualified vendor list. The compatibility lists report devices that meet the manufacturer specifications. The QVL vendor lists are suggested brand named devices (essentially paid advertising).

The supported memory frequencies is what you should pay most attention to.
