Hello
I have a
Gigabyte X58-UD3R
i7 930
Noctua NH D14
G.SKILL F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24
in the HAF X case

Do you think I will be able to reach 4.0 ghz? AND is there a overclocking guide that you know of that teaches you how to do it using the same mobo and core?

THANKS GUYS :)

The Noctua NH-D14 is a pretty beefy cooler, and the HAF-X a great case. Your overclock would most likely limited by temperature, 4.0 GHz shouldn't be too difficult.

There's no exact overclocking guide on specific motherboards, although really the terms that they use in the X58-UD3R applies pretty much to every other X58 motherboard.

Just Google "Intel Core i7 920 Overclocking Guide" and you should be fine.

Here. :D

I was able to get up 3.9Ghz with an I7 920 and that board quite easily, just followed a general I7 overclocking guide, but some of the auto voltage control settings for the CPU core were letting the voltage get very high which was ramping up the temperatures.

Be careful of the supplied Gigabyte utility for overclocking in Windows, for modest increases its okay but anything beyond that it allowed temps to get 20C beyond manual control (of about 1.2V)
