And by the way to the people that say they want to use k/m combo on their Xbox, there's a company that makes a device that lets you connect a k/m combo on your console. I just don't remember what it's called.

If Xbox allows cross-platform gaming, Xbox player on same map as PC gamer and both can use controller or kb/m, I think after a while with good statistics we could finally put the whole "which is better" argument to bed

"with a Wi-Fi keyboard and mouse" I not aware that they exist already, I am still using my Android device as a Wi-Fi keyboard and mouse.

Wireless sucks. How hard is it really to add the option of using kb/mouse in the options menu in console games?Shouldn't be hard at all.If you really have to have gold sub to access IE,that is some major BS!

I have been using a Keyboard / Mouse setup since I have owned my 360 and I wouldnt have bought it if I couldn't as I am old school and have no desire to learn to use the inferior controller. I can say that thought, whatever the reason they give for a KB/M not being a good fit for a console is complete BS.

I am perfectly fine playing 2 feet apart on a 24" 1080p monitor and 12 ft away from playing on a 65" 1080p TV.

I can use it in bed while lying down, leaned back in a reclining chair or sitting at a desk.

KB/M on a console gives me the superior FPS control I enjoy even though MS has never supported it and if they don't do it with the ONE the makers of the device I use now will so I will continue to enjoy it. The only question will be when I buy one because until there is keyboard mouse support through the console or by XIM I will not be getting one and will stick with my 360.

Microsoft allows for third party accessories...controllers included. I personally use both the Microsoft Wheel but also the MadKatz wheel. You must not have real experience or are clueless.

THIS MUST HAPPEN! It's easy too. They create a game server filter so the user has an option on what he/she wants to play against
1. Gamepad or Mouse & Keyboard
2. Gamepad only
3. Mouse & Keyboards only

In option 1 the gamer has a little icon next to their name so you know what they are using. I would love to ditch my PC gaming endless drivers & GPU updates and have something like this. I just HATE a gamepad for FPS

I already use a mouse and keyboard with my 360 and I love it. I had to purchase a Xim to do it, but its been fantastic, and like another member mentioned. This could also open a door for other games like MMORPGs.

Many of these games have massive followings with monthly fees. Which almost guarantees more Gold accounts. As players will need gold accounts to play online.

As far as business market, unless their is a keyboard and mouse, they might as well not even bother. Business owners will only see it as a toy and not a productive business tool. But to follow the Microsoft naming tradition, have a XBOX One Pro version that comes with a mouse and keyboard versus a controller.

If my XBOX One has keyboard and mouse support, I won't need to upgrade my PC. In fact, I would like it if I'm able to actually use my Logitech Unifier. Less crap on my desk.

I had much more fun playing halo/halo2 on the pc with a M/K than i did on the console with a gamepad. I would love to enjoy the halo games going forward in that same way, even if it has to be on a console instead of a pc.

A computing device that has an Operating System specific to it, has proprietary peripherals and programs have to be specifically coded to run on its hardware.

Sounds like a Mac to me. Good job Microsoft, you became Apple.

... You are familiar with device precedents set by the decades long history of video game consoles, right? And also familiar that MS was far from the company that established that closed model? Because what you've just described fits more or less every console since the NES, and possibly before that.

But, I know, let's single out MS for "proprietary peripherals" and "programs," when they have decades under their belt running a very prolific OS that runs damn near any program or device that any bloke chooses to make for it. Yep, their long history is all about "proprietary only."

Yes, but unlike previous generations this has a lot of the functionalities of a computer, as well as keyboard and mouse support. It also has an x86 architecture processor like a computer. So when are we just going to call it a computer instead of a console?

Sub 30fps? The game is going to look like and play like crap if it is sub 30FPS no matter what type of controller you use.

And before you go on about how using a mouse with a console gives a poor experience, I suggest you read above where I speak about me using a keyboard/mouse to play games on the 360 now and there are many that do it on the PS3 as well.

I dont think you know what you are talking about. EVERY device requires a driver for any operating system they work on. In many cases, MS provides even the most basic and rudimentary drivers needed for a device so it will work without a specific driver. In some cases though you will need a specific driver which is provided by the maker of the product, not MS.

Could be, but it is a chicken and egg scenario.

I am better with a mouse because I have used a mouse for 20+ years of gaming and dont care to learn to use a controller. However, being that aim is only part of the equation if I decided to use a controller exclusively I would more than likely get just as good as I am with a mouse because of my gaming smarts.

Keep in mind that a keyboard/mouse is still restricted by the same game mechanics that a controller is so a keyboard/mouse user can't move faster or spin faster then the setting in the game just like a controller user.

Disagree, its been done and tested.

http://www.gamesradar.com/pc-gamers-destroyed-console-gamers-in-tests-says-voodoo-pc-founder/

During the testing, extremely talented console gamers were pitted against "mediocre" PC gamers in what appears to be some type of shooter. The Xbox gamers used their 360 controllers and the PC gamers used the traditional mouse/keyboard combo. The results?

"The console players got destroyed every time. So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative."

Intelligence? All games require a level of intelligence to play well that's a given. There's no right or wrong way to play a game, but its naive to think controller has equal opportunity.
