I have an xbox one, Dell Inspiron 15R-N5110 Intel Core i5-2430M 2.4GHz, and a Macbook pro late 2011. ( I am a beginner) Is there any way i could make a goof desktop computer out of the dell parts? I want to build a good gaming computer that is also good at 3d moddling and programming but not really sure how to build one. So in summary, Should i build a desktop pc out of the dell or get better parts for my mac or just use my Xbox one for everything? THANKS for your time!

How do i build a Pc?

No, you can unfortunately not build a desktop gaming machine using your existing laptops.
It will also be impossible to upgrade your macbook and any meaningful way to increase its gaming performance (an increase in RAM may improve performance when modeling, but only if you are working with extremely complex models or large assemblies).

Your 'best' option, IMO, would be to make a custom gaming build, which will also give you plentiful power for modeling and coding.
You could then connect your Inspiron to your TV and, using Steam in-home streaming from your desktop and an xbox controller, get all the benefits of a dedicated gaming console.

As to building the system; this is actually quite easy.

Think of it as adult Lego's, just quite a bit simpler (the parts usually only fit were they need to go).
There are many guides here and on other sites, and the community will be more than happy to field any questions you have.

If this is a course you would like to investigate, what we would need you to post next is your budget and country of origin.
If you need anything beyond the computer itself (keyboard/mouse, speakers, monitor, etc.) it should be specified so that it can be accounted for in your budget.

When I switched from an Xbox 360 to PC, the first thing that struck me was the frame rate. Gameplay is considerably better at a higher frame rate and I'd never go back to a console now.

Then you have the advanced graphics; anti-aisling, anisotropic filtering, volumetric fog, God rays, etc., not to mention resolutions beyond 1920x1080.

Finally, if I'm in the middle of a game, I can Alt+Tab out of it, file my tax return and get back to gaming. Job done.

In my opinion, consoles are more like sub-par PCs; they're trying to do what PCs have done so effortlessly for years. If you're serious about getting into PC gaming, I would suggest that you sell what you have and use the money to buy the components for a desktop PC, like ZeroRequiem and Ghost_Hv said.
