The only difference is about 100mhz clockspeed increase on the 5690. 100mhz increase is about a 3% bump in clockspeed. To me it is not worth the extra money as you wont notice 3% performance difference in the real world unless you are running benchmarks.

Only higher clock for 130MHz i would say its not worth it.

There is 150Mhz clock speed bump on the 5690 over the 5680. Is that worth $40? I can't quantify that for you.
