It will be much better than your 5600.

The 5900 is a great midrange card with tons of raw power. Not sure if I'd pick one over a 9600XT due to the image quality issues and relatively weak shaders of the 5900, but the 5900 has enough raw fillrate power that the cards are neck and neck in my books. You can't go wrong with either card.

agreed the card will do you good so dont worry about, a bt of advice though next before you buy a card you should ask about it, cuz if it had been a crap card well then, bah whatever you understand

sounds great guys , thanks for you advice.i had read a few things about the card before i bought it and they all sounded good , i just wanted to hear from someone that has one and had overclocked it and stuff like that.
if i had the extra money i would have got a ati 9800 pro and been very happy. but who can complain when the card was only 169 bucks

Is this the se version of the card with the slower 2.8 ns memory module, or is it the "normal" version of the non-ultra card. I.e., what is the memory speed.

I believe memory speed is 700 mhz on the se version and 850 on the "normal" non-ultra card (without any overclocking, of course).

If it is the "normal" non-ultra card with the faster memory then I think $169 is a helluva deal.

And to think that a month and a half ago this was Nvidia's top end card. Now it's being compared to ATI's midrange card. (I've seen a couple of threads where people have been asking about a 9600 compared to a 5900). this must hurt Nvidia's pride

its the normal vers 400 clock and 800mem . cant wait to get it and mess around with some settings. my old fx5600 was really not the best to overclock . but the graphics looked great..
