xfx r390 and pc reboot when i start furmark

As soon as i run the stress test my pc restart.
At the moment, this is what I tryed:

Clean installation of various OS (from win10 to win7)
Clean installation of amd driver
Forced constant voltage in msi afterburner
Disabled ULPS
Disabled C6/7/8 power state

Done a succesful prime95
Done a stress test of video ram, passed it
Updated the motherboard bios

Furmark can only run when i underclock gpu core clock (-25%) and video ram clock (1300mhz), then all is fine. If i put factory stock clock my pc simply reboots.

My spec:
MB GIGABYTE GA-Z170-HD3P, LGA 1151
CPU Intel Socket 1151 i5-6500 Ci5
VGA XFX R9 390 8GB Black
Seasonic S12II PSU ATX 620W
memory D4 2133 8GB C13 Corsair Ven K2
HD WD 3,5" 1000 GB 1TB 64MB
Samsung SSD for o.s.

In various site i've read that it might be a faulty psu, but if the fault is the psu should I not be able to run furmark?
I've even tryed furmark & prime95 stress test at the same time, all is fine if the video card is underclocked.

Can you please help?

The R9 390 has a TDP of 300w and 323.3W when stressed in Furmark." For some reason, FurMark affects AMD's GPUs more than Nvidia's. The R9 390 Nitro needs as much as 323.3W in this test ". Needs a 650w> PSU. Try another PSU that's Tier 1 or 2 with 750w like a Seasonic M12II-750 EVO or XFX TS 750 PSU.

I can probably use a corsair 750w for free, to see if the problem solves, thank you.
But I was assured that a seasonic s12 620w was more than enough to handle the r390.

Problem also happens when i play the witcher3 or grim dawn. I can play for sometime then the pc reboots it self immediately.

Your current PSU is plenty , I'd be fairly certain the issue is the card itself.rather than drop clocks with MSI afterburner set the power limit to 80% instead & leave the clocks at stock speed.

Does't work. I have to underclock the card for have it to work.
Power limit is set to +50% (at max %)
Core clock is set to max 800mhz (-23.9%)
Mem clock is set to 1300mhz (-200mhz)

Id be fairly adamantly saying faulty card then mate in all honesty,by all accounts try than cx750 if you have it handy,but i dont see it making a difference - the seasonic your using is a far far better psu & on 12v rail ampage is only about 50w lower than the corsair.

i hope to try it as soon as possible.
Alan is probably right saying my psu is not enough, but the psu should be short in power even when i underclock my card, or i miss something?
By the way, I really dont want to rma a card that is working, on the other hand i dont want to spend 150€ to buy a better psu if i dont have to...
i should be able to try the new psu next week,

It has better Ampere and total wattage than my Seasonic, so i should be able to finally know if i have a bad PSU... thank you for your support.

I wouldn't consider a card that you have to under clock as working myself in all honesty.If it under warranty I personally would RMA while I still could , these kind of faults (if that's what it is) tend to get worse over time.

The power limit you have set at +50% ???
I'd put it at -20% (so 80% allowed) & try at that with full clock speeds.

with the amd overdrive, i can set power limit either to +50% (far right) or -50% (far left).

As far as i understand it, if i put it at + (plus) % it allows my card to draw more power from my psu.
While set a - (minus) % will put a limit on how much watt my gpu can drawn, but i could be completely wrong on this. I'd never tried to set a - (minus) %, now im at work will try to set a minus % this evening.

I will RMA the videocard as soon as i try the new PSU, so im sure that isn't a low-wattage problem. This evening after work i will get it and try.

Set your clocks back to default , set the power limit to -20.

This will limit GPU usage to around 220w which your PSU can handle easily.

If its still crashing / freezing at that then the GPU is absolutely 100% faulty.

Just tried. I've set power limit to -20% and default mhz for core and mem, pc instantanely reboots as i lunch furmark.

Alan was right. My Seasonic S12II 620W isnt enough. Just tried with the coolermaster 750w and furmark ended with no restart. Will get a new psu as soon as possible. Thanks a lot guy for your time and patience!

You are welcome. Be sure to get a Tier 1 or 2 PSU with 750> wattage like a Seasonic M12II-750 EVO or a XFX TS 750.

Just bought a Corsair rmi 750w. It is in the tier 1 list you posted before. It seems that particular model of seasonic and xfx are not aviable in itayl... hope that corsair is enough.
