Just want to remind people that Valve has come out and said there will be different tiers of models. They are going to be releasing a $100 "good" model, a $300 "better" model, and a $1000+ "best" model. They'll be making their own hardware variant and they also are publishing the specs OEM's would need to meet to call their own computers a steam box. All models are said to be upgrade and hacking friendly.

[citation][nom]lionheart2243[/nom]That or accurately Tom's accurately stated it clocks at 3.2Ghz, which is true with turbo, and you just made yourself look foolish. One or the other.[/citation]

Since when are we listing parts by their turbo speeds instead of base clock? Base clock is the consistently achieved speed. Turbo is not.

Actually, it's common for a lot of newer hardware to much more consistently be at or near it's Turbo speeds than it's base speeds. It's possible, if not likely, that these chips tend to be at or near 3.2GHz much more than 2.3GHz.

1. Tom's Hardware, why are you spreading blatant misinformation in article title?

2. Piston sucks pretty bad for that price.

It's not really a 3.2GHz CPU if it can't consistently run at 3.2GHz.

My point is that we don't know if it consistently runs at 3.2GHz, so passing judgment on it over this at this time is over-stepping what we can prove. That makes it unfair and wasted effort.
