[SOLVED] XMP 4 sticks of DDR4 on Z690 motherboard

Hello! im New here! and need some idea Re: XMP of 4 sticks of DDR4 on Z690 motherboard

Im planning to make and upgrade from skylake to alderlake but still on ddr4 platform.
currently using 4 x 8GB Dominator Plats 3600mhz XMP

Im wondering if xmp will works on Z690 ddr4 platform with the 4 dimms that im currently using without any issues...

Solution
using 4 sticks is usually pretty hit or miss and it is generally dependent on the mobo itself. you want to look at the manual for the specific mobo you want to move to and be sure it will support the sticks you have. often when filling every slot, you run into limits of speed, dual rank vs single rank, voltage and other factors. a higher end mobo will generally handle it better simply due to being a better engineered board but that is not guaranteed.

so check the user manual for the boards you are considering and check ram compatibility lists to get an idea if it will work or not.
