Alright so i need to get the 64 bit version of XP. Is there a safe way to download the OS for free?

Wouldnt i need a license key as well?

Ive been looking and there is some trial version out there...is that the full version or just something microsoft put out when they first developed the 64 bit version?

I don't know of anybody that "needs" the X64 version of Windows.

It is a lesson in futility for the most part. It is difficult to get drivers for it, many hardware devices won't work with it (like most scanners), many 32 bit programs won't run on it despite the fact(?) that X64 can handle 32 bit applications... sometimes.

Want 64 bit? Go for Win 7 and be happy. X64 will make you mad, then sad.

I have dual-boot XP Pro and X64. I find myself only using the X64 to work in Adobe Photoshop or other memory intensive applications.

The other things you ask.. Free? No way, it co$t if you can find it. Yes it needs a license key but that comes with a legitimate copy of it.

Ok i need it to use my full 8GB of RAM. Ive heard win 7 is not the best especially when you are so used to xp. And cant i just download the iso file and find a key online?
