unchanged XP copys with a WPI that with assist the tweeks/changes etc.

XP Black 8 is fine, other than some of the less than useful software that comes with it.

Keygens are always recognized as virus by many av scanners. It works A-OK if you ask me.

I have an idea, just use Ubuntu 8.04. Then you get all the "pretty" of vista, better performance with less hardware footprint (it SCREAMS on a P4 2.6/512mb compaq...), oh, and then you don't have to pirate everything because IT'S ALL FREE!!! I hate to make my first post something like this, but C'mon this is an easy one. Oh, and Ubuntu forums has an answer for just about any issue you come up with. So where is the problem? Take a week to learn the new software and you'll be glad you did. Nero costs ~$100, K3B does exactly the same thing, except IT'S FREE...

Peace

Hi, ive had XP Black for about 6 months now. It works great. I had gotten the CD from a friend who had burned it. basically, xp black is just xp, with a slightly modified GUI, some fully cracked software and windowblinds. You can just not use windowblinds and it will look almost exactly like XP. another thing great about it is that with the automated install, you can choose exactly what you want and dont want, including GUI modifications. The version that i have has no viruses, malware, or trojans on it that i have found. the only problem i have is that the stupid sidebar ( i thought it was cool when i tried it out on vista, turns out its not that cool) sometimes gives an error which is easily debugged. other than that, this is simply just a slightly modified XP with a bunch of pirated software.

I've been using Black Windows XP for months now. You said you saw some people post that there are Trojans on there.
It's because some of the - not so great - anti virus programs flag false positives on some of the key generators and cracks which are included in the O.S. package as malicious software. It is all clean (at least the one I downloaded). If you want to be paranoid, you can scan the iso before burning it, and after scan remove all the threats (can do this with AVG and some other anti viruses).

Anyhow, the new 23 build of Black XP runs excellent, and I very much prefer it over vista and over the regular Windows XP.

I encourage everyone to give it a try.

Cheers
- Paul

Hiya Guys :)

I've got one question - I've got SATA disk (thus Vista installed :D), and I know that XP doesn't have drivers for this kind of disks, though you can install XP on sata, but it's quite longer process as proper drivers are needed prior to system installation.
Does the XP Black go with SATA drivers?
TIA
:)

SATA works just fine with XP. you dont need drivers for XP/SATA unless you are running in a raid mode.

SATA was out long before Vista. I dont know what gave you this idea that SATA means Vista but its wrong.

SATA doesn't mean Vista for me ;)
and this is not the case to argue about it (i.e. you can read a bit here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/10/23/windows-xp-setup-could-not-detect-and-find-any-sata-hard-disk-drive-on-ahci-mode/)

my question was does the XP Black goes with SATA drivers :)

thanks anyway :)

might want to check your link. i dont know what a panasonic toughbook has to do with either sata drivers or xp black edition.

xp black edition has a lot of built in sata drivers.

i say again, if there is only one sata drive in your system then the built in sata/ide driver will work perfectly. you will only need additional drivers if you have some sort of raid array.

you do not need additional drivers for a system with only one sata hard drive.

I am running XP Black as we speek. I am running it on a dual partition next to vista. It has all the stability of XP pro and alot of the xtras that vista has.It is not just a skin it is a complex merge of the two os.It comes with quite abit of extra software plus it auto updates and is seen as genuine. This is a must have for anyone considering vista It blows vista and XP out of the water!!If microsoft was as smart as the think they are they would take pointers from the developer of XP Black Ultimate. Yes it is a pirate but the version that I am using is clean and stable. no reboot isues like vista but alot of xtra security like vista ultimate. All in All I 100% approve of XP black big thumbs up!!

I just put XP black on one of the computers I maintain, and it is working great, except I can't get it to find the LAN network all the other computers around are on. I removed some of the bundled software, but a lot of it I like, although it took me some time to get used to them. The computer I put it on has a vaild Vista license, but due in part to the low RAM on it, Vista is not pleasant to run. If anyone has any ideas as to why the local network isn't showing up, please enlighten me, but beyond that consider this a post that XP black is sweet, and I haven't been hit with any noticeable spyware/malware.

hey guys how can i get XP Black Edition can any body please let me know you can send an e-mail to me at spiderweb80@ymail.com thanks

Oh and incidentally... sometimes you do need SATA drivers even with a single hard drive installed. Some older boards that included a third-party SATA controller or SATA added in as an afterthought (Asus A8V motherboard, for example). These boards required additional drivers to allow installation of XP.

Now, with a lot of motherboards having native SATA support... you usually don't need additional drivers upon install as long as you're not running in RAID mode.

I am actually looking for another copy of this os, I lost my copy in the move. I read most of the posts in this thread; and I never had any problem with my version, it was fantastic. Was the versions you all had running on Corporate edition, like the one I had? I got mine from torrentdmg, no longer a member, could anyone recommend a good copy for me?

Take your trusted full copy of XP (legit or not) and customize it using nLite. Software is very intuitive and easy to use. If you do it yourself you know exactly what is going into it.

Is there an x64 version of it? I've always loved BLACK XP but I didn't get it this time knowing it was 32bit. But everyone here is talking about so many versions I didn't even know about. Just wondering if an x64 existed.
