My config is NF7-S v2.0
xp2500
SA9500np
Audigy sound card
2xSeagate barracuda5 sata hard drives raid stripped
twice in 2 days I have had to reinstall xp due to the system failing to boot
due to an error .

System goes through bios screens fine and when xp is loading screen should
appear I get an error message about dll missing for kernel
no names very vague.
Have norton 2004 internet security installed. Help my sanity if you can .
Gone back to my pata drive to send this but am sure it is not a sata prob.

XP might be a red herring. Normally, when a computer fails while loading
windows, this points to a failing/too weak power supply. Do you have an old
copy of ME or 98 or linux or something sitting around? Load that up on a
single drive, preferably ide. Boot that "cold" several times. Repeat over
a few days. If you are having problems at the point where the OS tries to
load from one hard drive, suspect the power supply. IF no problem that way,
reinstall xp on your raided sata drives. If xp fails to boot, still suspect
a bad power supply. But in that case, another possibility is a barracuda
drive is failing. -Dave

what brand of ram? if it isn't crucial or kingmax, i'd try swapping it out:
these boards are *very* picky about RAM and if it doesn't like your brand,
your symptoms are pretty typical.

At the present price level of quality RAM it is sometimes cheaper to
swap the mainboard - but Richard seems to have no RAM at all;-)

BTW - I would deinstall Norton IS (installing later Norton AV only, if
any Symantec product).
