Here is one for you........I have tried to swap motherboards but system will not boot ( will POST OK) from hard drive or CD. (Error at LINE 1768 d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c). Long story but windows is installed on D drive. Tried safe mode, command line prompt etc. Any ideas- is it Windows XP jibbing at motherboard change?

System is Athlon xp2400+ at 2000mhz, Windows XP (at time unregistered) master and slave drives & DVD/CD.
When original board refitted all OK again.

If I swapped mobos, I would perform a clean new install. Problem solved.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

You will always want to do a clean install when swaping the motherboard. If for some reason a machine does boot w/ a diff mobo it is going to be very broken and suck so it will need a rebuild anyway.
