If I am in a browser (IE or Firefox) periodically XP Home SP2 stops
responding. To fix I have to reset the CPU and power it back on. I am
current on Window Updates and Anti-Virus scan shows nothing.

Some hardware driver is failing. Look at the event viewer for info

start/run, type: eventvwr.msc
