What have you tried? Are you running anything else with it?

So far I have run the program as downloaded and then I tried running it from the Microsoft server. I tried running it with all the start programs turned off then tried in safe mode. All with no luck.
Nothing on the system is overclocked with the exception of the ram which is set strong in the bios. I read on the Anandtec forums that there are issues with the Soundblaster Live card with XP but I haven't even got past the Upgrade Advisor yet.
The system as is runs excetionally stable. I am assuming that being as generic as it is XP(with the right drivers) will probably work on it but so far it is not encouraging.

After buying XP and getting the same result during the install and I gave up and called Microsoft Support. After two hours it was unanimous that it wasn't going to install. So we booted from the cd and installed it on the second drive as a dual boot and this actually is not too bad. So far everything works even an old rom of Galaga.
If I have to go back for anything mission critical my Win 98 is still there although if everything keeps going as it has I might delete that.
