Hey All

A friend of mine has asked me to help. His daughter was trying to get her
Barbie game to work, it wouldn't so she kept pressing the eject button on the
CD drive. Eventually it came out but the box (it's XP Home btw) blue screened.

I told him to switch it off and then on (fixes everything as you know) -
however the box will not now start, goes past the Windows screen with the
progress bar, goes blue and then the egg timer comes up and stays up -
seemingly forever.

Safe Mode does a similar thing, just doesn't start and it appears (based on
the HD light) that no activity is taking place once it "stops"

I was going to run a system repair from the CD but my friend can't remember
the admin password.

btw - this really is for a friend, it wasn't my babrbie CD!

Any suggestions? Tips?

Thanks

J
