Hi, I have just overclocked my XP2200 to the following...

FSB 166 Multiplier x11, giving me 1.8Ghz but with 166 FSB instead of 133.

If I push the Mulitplier to 11.5 windows starts to boot but then resets the computer, if I push the FSB up to 168 everything seems stable but I am unsure about pushing it any further.

Are the current settings I have standard for an xp2200 overclock?.

Also what else Should I look out for in the bios, I head increasing the FSB can increase the frequency in AGP and PCI slots, how can I check if this has happened?.

I have the following set-up
XP2200
A7V8X Motherboard
Crucial PC2700 DDR 512MB x2 Memory.

cheers
Adam

Do not worry about the pci bus, it is set at 33 mhz. As to the agp bus, it is controlled seperately, a few lines down from the ram timing. Not much point changing it though.
Do you have a palomino core? Most of the thoroughbred b cores can go at least 200mhz above rated speed. Yours should go to at least 2 gigs @ 166 with stock cooling and voltage (if it's b core). Look in the bios and tell us what your vcore is. You may have to raise it to get where you are going.

Looks like I do need to play with voltage now.

I managed to get it up to 170FSB while it seemed stable the screen went blank half way through and I had to reboot (it wasn't a heat problem as my heat monitor didn't sound any alarms).

I cant take the Multiplier past 11 @166FSB, if I do windows starts to load but then resets itself, I also updated my bios from 1010 to 1012, this resulted in an unstable overclock @ 166, not sure why because 1012 supports the XP3000 so I thought it would have been more stable.

Anyway I'm back to 1010 so any suggestions on how high I can "Safely" take the voltage?.

Cheers
