XP3200 Copper Heatsink?

Hello,

I just received a retail XP3200 and noticed that it comes with a full copper-bottom HS with super thin aluminum fins. I've usually installed a 3rd party HSF for AMD's, however this HS is different from any retail AMD HS I've seen.
Does anyone have any comments/ suggestions? Do you think this is a worthwhile HSF?

I got one with my 2500+, it keeps it pretty cool but im upgrading to an slk-800, cant beat that

That HSF is fine, nothing wrong with it or AMD wouldn't have packaged it with the CPU & warranted it. If you want to OC quite a bit you might want to change it out in that case. Otherwise it's a good HSF.

Make sure you slap that HSF on, even if you do decide to get another one, just to melt the thermal pad... this is so if you ever need to RMA the chip, AMD can see that you have used the retail HSF (technically speaking it voids your retail warranty if the chips dies while you're using a 3rd-party one)...

Thanks for the tip Chipdeath, I'll do that. JimmyDean, surprisingly, this HS is different from the 2500+ Barton's. The 2500 has a copper square wedge in the middle for the cpu die, while the 3200's HS has solid copper piece across the entire bottom. The width of the fins on the 3200 are much thinner than the 2500 as well, though the 2500's HSF is taller. If you were getting half-way decent cooling with the stock HSF for the 2500, that makes me more optimistic for this one. Thanks.
