Hey All,
I've been reading through the forums to see if I could find an answer to my problem and I'm having some difficulty
understanding if any that I've found applies to me. I believe they might, but here's the problem:

I have a Yamaha RX V373BL.

I want to connect my Sony Subwoofer which only has a speaker wire input and no power. If what I've read on the forums is true, I need a pre-amp for this? Here are the specs for the woofer:

I was told that I could solder a RCA to the speaker wire and connect that to the receiver. Is this true?
What would I have to do in order to get this sub woofer to function with the receiver? Is this possible?

Also, the woofer is part of a sony home theatre kit. The speakers from said kit are already connected to the receiver and functioning. I just couldn't connect the woofer because of the input difference.

Thanks in advance!

Haha, that really would be the way to go on this huh? Any good woofer brands you could recommend? I'll probably go shopping for a woofer soon.
