It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. There are no 'universal codes'

You basically have to work this problem backwards. You will have to select a potential universal remote that you might purchase and then see if the remote's manufacturer has documentation on its website which lists the devices that the remote supports and the code that's entered into that remote for your player. It would help if you could find out the part number for the remote and search for a replacement that way.

Yamaha does list the control codes on Page 9 of this document which might work with a universal remote but there are 11 of them so it might take some work to figure which one might work with your player:
