YANI: Hallucination

This one's more serious than Heck-Hack.

When a character is confused or hallucinating, why shouldn't there be a
small chance that the devotee will say the wrong thing or pray to the wrong
god. This act would reduce piety, decrease luck or remove crowning. I
suggest the possibility of removing crowning because it would have a
beneficial effect of returning prayer timeout to normal. Most of the
intrinsics granted by crowning are obtainable through mundane means. Once
lost, one can't get it back.

The idea came to me while confused and hallucinating in a temple dedicated
to Amaterasu Okami. My samurai was starving and a quick and effortless
prayer sated his hunger. Hopefully no one will think this idea would
needlessly increase the difficulty of Nethack.

Extinctionists would certainly like this idea. I think the penalty isn't
anything at all if compared to the benefit of removing crowning. Like
someone here said, crowning is just the game's way to tell you have to
move on. The intrinsics are really easy to get withour crowning (except
if you're a vegetarian). So, in my opinion this idea would just make the
game a lot easier (especially with extinctionists).

Some of the effects maybe should be more evil, like summoning a nasty
monster and losing protection.

If you remove crowning, it should also remove everything that comes with
crowning regardless of if you had it before being crowned or not. That
would make a considerably greater penalty if you're not prepared with
supplies to regain the intrinsics.

Also should remove the artifactness of any weapon you may be wielding. :)

I think it would. Furthermore, I think it's silly. Given that being
confused/hallucinating does not prevent Nethack characters from
recognising their own inventory or remembering their own name or their
pet's name or the layout of the dungeon, I would tend to think that
something even more important (like their god's name) would be even
easier to remember.

In slashem, hallucination prevents you from recognizing your inventory.
(Of course, you will still know that a) used to be your primary weapon,
for example Excalibur, but it will be listed as, e.g., a mace.)
