I have a Asus A8n-SLI Premium with a AMD X2 4800, XFX7800 GT. I have 2 GB of Corsair CMX512-3200. CPU-Z reports dual mode.

Would it make a difference if I got 2 GB of dual channel memory or not? I know its running in dual channel, but would it be better if I bought specific ram that is dual channel? I have read alot of posts and I just am not sure. :?
Thanks

I believe that you would sacrifice some performance with one stick of 2 gb memory. You would only be using 64 bits access out of a possible 128 bits with dual channel disabled.

ira is right that if at all possible, you want two sticks so you can run in dual-channel mode. However, the two sticks don't have to be called a "dual-channel pair". I've bought 2 "normal" one-stick packages sometimes when 2 of those are cheaper than a "dual-channel" package.

Are you running win xp 32 bit? If so, it'll never see 4 gb of memory if you add another set of gig sticks.
