So I built my last PC in 2008 with help from this forum and I am looking to build another PC. Last time I think I spent ~$1600 but I have a kid on the way any day now and so I need to save a little cash as opposed to going full out this time.

Here is what I was thinking.
-CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Carrying Handle and Windowed Side Panel - Black

-Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

-Rosewill PHOTON Series PHOTON-750 750W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS Gold Certified, Full Modular Design, Single +12V Rail,ATX12V v2.31/EPS12V v2.92,SLI Ready, Crossfire Ready, Active-PFC Power Supply

-G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

-ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

-Intel Core i5-4570 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54570

-Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

-LG Black 16X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Blu-ray Burner WH16NS40 - OEM

-SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC 100362-2SR Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card

I originally was looking at
-Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Quad-Core 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54670K
but I'm not an over clocker

and

-MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G LE GeForce GTX 970 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card
but the 290 actually has better benchmarks for dragon age and of course it saved me a few more bucks.

if you guys think the difference is so great that I should change them back let me know. Full disclosure, I want to play dragon age inquisition at high settings and my rig sputters with low settings now (it is from 2008 after all)

Finally, I worry about 2 small things with the case. 1 is dust. I have an antech case now with no filters and the insides get dusty as heck and I blow them out with a compressor once a month. So if you have a high air case with good filters please let me know. 2nd, is the Video card too long that I may have to mod the case and so I should stick to the 970?

Thanks for any help

Can save a little bit by not buying everything from Newegg, but that is up to you. I assumed that was a preference (I know it is for me, usually get stuff in 2 days or less)

Case has dust filters that should help. I don't think the CM Storm Scout does.
