Hey guys, so I am about to build my first PC but I want to make sure I'm not choosing bad or incompatible parts since I just want to make sure that my first PC build goes as smoothly as possible which is why I am here to ask you guys your opinions of the parts I have chosen and if I should change anything.

Approximate Purchase Date: This week (approximately 1-3 days) or if its better to get it next week then I will wait.

Budget Range: 2400-2500 for the PC and 200-270 for the Monitor

System Usage: Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Location: Michigan

Parts Preferences: I would prefer a Nvidia GPU and a Intel CPU

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Preferred Monitor Resolution: 2560 x 1440

Additional Comments: I would prefer to have RGB but I also want to focus on performance.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Dell prebuilt garbage screwed me over.

The build looks ok, everything should be compatible...assuming the PSU fits the case. Just on the case, it's the one area you're spending quite a bit, but if that's the look you want, that's fine. But you don't actually need to fill every fan slot with a fan.
The CPU cooler comes with 3 fans and your buying another 7, so 10 fans?

Well how many fans should I get and where should I place them? Also I heard it's better to side mount the AIO instead of mounting the AIO to the top since the side mount would be intake while the top would be exhaust meaning that the side mount would pull in cool air to the CPU. Is this true?

You can set the AIO cooler to pull in air and still mount it to the top, but usually top fans are set to exhaust as heat rises. I've always set a front to rear airflow, so 3 fans on the front and 1 on the rear, the excess air can find it's own way out through the empty top fan slots and through the mesh around the rear.

The point I was making about all the fans is it's the classic money pit of Lian Li cases. They don't come with fans, but have many slots for them, so you end up spending as much on the fans as the case itself....you can buy just as nice looking cases with fans already installed.
