Hi,

I rarely ever post here but today i'm stuck, after 6 hours of problem solving with no result.

I have the Aorus gaming 7 z370 rev 1.0 motherboard (bought new last week, the current bios version is Z370 AORUS Gaming 7-OP F1) .

I have downloaded the correct bios files directly from Gigabytes website. Following the instructions I have been unable to update the bios using the @bios app or via the bios. The file am am using is named ''Z370AG7.F7 (I tried renaming this as shown in the instructions but that didnt help)''. The @bios app says the ''Bios part number is incorrect'' and the q flash manager says ''bios id check error''.

I tried updating from the server, it downloads then the @bios app just closes itself without flashing the bios.

I have tried loading optimised defaults in the bios and resetting the bios but doing this did not help.

Anyone know know the answer?

Thanks.

My very first instinct was to tell you to make sure you were downloading the correct bios for your motherboard version, but since you specifically stated:

WITH the revision number included, I figured you were pretty certain of what model and revision you were downloading the update for. I guess shame on me for assuming, which I don't normally do, that you were on point with the image you were downloading. I should have said what I suspected initially. Glad you got it sorted though.
If the bios won't update using standard procedures then I wouldn't mess around. Contact Gigabyte and tell them you have a board that will not update. It may be you have a bad bios ROM or something else is off, like the release version. You might also try a different flash drive.

I just solved it. The short answer is i’m an idiot.

The solution was the software was trying to download the bios for the “Z370 gaming 7 rev 1.0”. When I visited gigabytes product page I realised my motherboard is the “Z370 gaming 7 OP rev 1.0” (because it came with optane). The bios is completely different, in name at least. I’ve just updated and everything seems fine.

Thank you to anyone who looked at this and for any suggestions you posted.
