Question Z370-P w/o Graphics card

I am speccing out a new PC based on Asus Prime Z370-P II
As I do no gaming I was not intending to get a separate graphics card

I may update my monitor in the near future - if I were to go for a 34 inch monitor (such as Samsung CF791) would the Z370 be able to handle it? or would I need a GPU?

The motherboard is not what matters its the CPU. The board itself just has the outputs. Most Intel CPUs have a built in GPU that will handle a 4K display without any issues.

Looking at i5-9600K which states 4k support at 60Hz

Then yes it will be fine. It should have the UHD 630 which supports up to 3 displays and should easily handle 4K.
