Hello!

I'm currently doing a build, it's only my second one so I'm not that experienced. I have a Asus Z690 plus wifi d4, and I'm installing a lian li galahad aio 240 rgb cooler.

I have everything installed on the cpu, and I'm just connecting all the cables to the mother board and the controller hub. On the hub, there is a sata power, the USB header connection, and a third cable. This cable has the 5v 3 pin connector, with a split cable coming off it with a 4 pin connector but only 1 of them has a contact.

Is this cable supposed to connect to my cpu_fan or cpu_opt fan connection? In the manual all it says is "connect to fan" which doesn't help me much. Also says gvsp along the ports in the manual, with p being the one that is wired in the diagram. My motherboard states that specific pin would control pwm fan.

Really not sure where this should be going. Thankyou!

I'm sure it's ment to connect to cpu fan header.

My corsair aio cooler has the same thing and it says to connect to cpu fan header for temperature monitoring.

Thanks for the reply. This is kind of what I was thinking too. Just wasn't sure. I'll give it a try. Almost finished the build and about power it up, I'll see how it goes.

Not real clear on your question.
You have 2 wires from the fans and the pump that need to be connected. one for power and one for the argb.

Cpu fan and cpu opt are different channel. Cpu opt fan is for if you have extra fan such as radiator fan or maybe some cooling system have 2 fans. The 1st fan connect to cpu fan and another fan connect to cpu opt. This means you can connect your cooler fan either on cpu_fan or cpu_opt. For my set, i connected the cpu's cooler fan, on the cpu_fan marked connector port.

Thanks for responding. Sorry it wasn't clear. The wires from the fans and the pump are accounted for. One goes to aio header and the other to the central rgb hub controller. the fan connections also go to the central controller. I figured out where it was supposed to go. This just connects to the cpu_fan header as someone else mentioned here. But this cable was coming off the controller hub thing, and was spliced with the 5v rgb addressable plug.

System is up and running with zero errors so i think im good to go!

Thanks. Yea i ended up plugging it into the cpu_fan header. The only problem i ran into was i received an error at post, saying the cpu fan speed wasn't found. I just disabled the monitoring in bios, as the cpu fan speed is monitored by the AIO pump header, and is running at full speed as intended. All other fans are registering and spinning.
