Hi everyone! I can't decide which one to pick!
I've been looking at the Asus Z87-Pro, Asus Maximus VI Formula and Hero. The problem is that I really need WiFi. I'm aware that cable is faster and more stable, but I can't use cable where I live now. So, which one should I buy? The price for the Z87 and Hero are the same, and I've read a lot of positive reviews towards the Hero. Formula has WiFi build in, but is quite expensive. Should I get the Hero and buy a WiFi card, if so please suggest one.

noooo these boards have come a long way from the Soundblaster card days. With either of these boards (or Z87PRo you don't need to replace the sound card).

Again the Z87 Come with Built in Wifi (with a nice magnetic antenna) tons of stuff on the AI SUite 3 (and has just enough for a overclocking), Hotspot the PC as well and Bluetooth.

in case i missed anything else

Enjoy your purchase.
Pro is plain vanilla (has wifi and is super steady. I own one myself). The later have ridiculous amount of bells and whistles. If you're seriously doing some crazy SLI and Uber mods. Then those are the boards for you. If you'r tight on money, Pro is a good choice

Best Luck

I currently have the Maximus VI Hero and love it. The Z87-Pro is not a bad board either. I think unless you're going to be doing some extreme overclocking, the Formula is a bit more than you need. I would pick either of the former 2 (esp the Pro since it has the WiFi built in, if you're not intending to OC at all) and get a WiFi card or a WiFi USB and call it a day.

Thought so too. Any suggestions for a WiFi card? I really have no experience with those. I've got a 4770k, planning on OC'ing of course. But not extreme. Is it worth spending like €20 extra on a WiFi card, or will the Z87 Pro fulfill my gaming needs?

You can still OC your 4770K on the Z87-Pro. I didn't have much luck using 4-Way Optimization so I would recommend doing it from BIOS either way. I think the Z87-Pro will more than fulfill your gaming needs, honestly.

I've heard that the soundcard on the Z87 is of lesser quality. Do you have any experience with that? I really don't mind spending an extra €20 on a WiFi card if it's worth it, but I won't if I don't have to.

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the quick responses!

Basic build. Just 2.1 speakers, so I can listen to music. Nothing really high end to be honest. But what I meant is if the quality is good, so I don't have to replace the soundcard.
