I'm using a standard USB keyboard and mouse on the USB 2.0 ports on the back of the Mobo, they work fine while I am in BIOS, but the issue occurs when leave BIOS and either A. Boot into the SSD that has Windows 7 installed or when I'm trying to install Win 8 via the DVD.

As soon as I get past the BIOS and boot into Win 7 OR do the "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD" and load into the Windows 8 Setup, it stops working. They are getting no power, caps lock doesn't light up. It just dies. I tried reseating the keyboard and mouse, no go. I tried using another KB n M and same issue persists.
I tried updating BIOS to the latest and it was successful, but the problem persists.

Any suggestions?

try the mouse and keyboard on another system and see if the same problem happens , then they are faulty.

if they are ok , then try in the bios , look for Legacy USB support , and try turn it on and off and see if this solves the problem.

also try changing the usb ports and see if this solves the problem.

and try the usb3 ports and see if the problem go away or not.
