[SOLVED] zalman copper cooler

I have a zalman cps copper cooler fitted to a gigabyte lga775 motherboard. Will this cooler fit the intell 8700k cpu on a msi z370 a pro motherboard. intel lga 1151.

Its a copper Zalman cnps i have no other numbers i do not have the box.It sits on top of an imtel 3.8 prescot ghz cpu in a gigabyte lga775 pro motherboard 945 p chipset.

I can only tell u it's a cnps copper zalman it's about 5"dia I do not have the box or Any other numbers.Its sitting on top of a intel 3.8ghz prescot

Well some of those do support LGA 1151 and some don’t. But for one thing if you only have the hardware for the 775 socket then no you won’t be able to fit it to an 1151 socket.

You can try contacting zalman. But they’d have to know your model number. I know several of them do have brackets for 1151 and 775 but if yours is an older model that was never intended for 1151 they wouldn’t have a bracket available. If the cooler has been with that board since it was new that cooler probably won’t have an 1151 bracket available.

But i could be wrong. Their cooler designs are fairly simple so the brackets could be all interchangeable. Best bet is to try and contact them.

thanks I'll try and contact them,it's all getting a bit too hard I might just use a dark rock 4 which i know will fit and do the job.Regards Michael

That would be a much better cooler anyway! Sounds like you got your money’s worth out of the zalman too.
