Civilization 6: Scythia Guide

The horse people of the Steppes, the Scythians are a civilization geared towards war from the early stages of the game. Exploration and conquest should be your goals right from the start here.

Tomyris leads the Scythians, with her unique ability 'Killer of Cyrus'. All units receive +5 Combat Strength when attacking wounded units. When they eliminate a unit, they heal up to 50 hit points. This can be used to quickly rush over an enemy, and keep your units healthy by making sure the more damaged of your troops can manage to land the killing blow on enemy units so that they can heal up.

Special Unique Ability

'People of the Steppe' is the unique ability of the Scythian people. Receive a second light cavalry unit or Saka Horse Archer each time you train a light cavalry unit or Saka Horse Archer. This can really help with you gaining a strong and mobile force as quickly as possible.

The unique tile improvement of the Scythain's is the Kurgan. This is a tile improvement that will provide you with faith and gold, and if it is built next to a pasture then you'll gain even more faith from it. It cannot be built next to another Kurgan, or on a hill though.

Unique Unit

The Saka Horse Archer is the unique unit of the Scythian people, and is a highly mobile ranged unit that doesn't require horses to be built. With the leader ability whenever you build one of these you will actually get two as well.

Focus on building up a decent amount of horsemen, and utilizing every pasture you can with at least one Kurgan next to it, and you can easily push your way into a religious and military lead in the early game and go from there.
