How To Find Stuff In No Man’s Sky

The universe is vast, and mostly open space in No Man's Sky, so how do you go about finding something interesting while you are exploring?

Step 1)Fix your scanner.

When you first start in the game most of your equipment is broken, and this includes your scanner. Check out my guide here on how to fix this vital piece of equipment. Once this is up and running you can use it to scan things nearby to find things that may be interesting, it will automatically place way points for you to head towards to make finding things easier.

Step 2)Find and interact with beacons.

Beacons are important landmarks that you can find that will give you a birds eye view of the current territory you are in on a planet, as well as mark points of interest on your scanner to make them easier to discover. Finding the beacons themselves isn't too tough, as they will show up on your scanner by default.

Step 3)Just explore!

It is entirely possible to just find things while out exploring aimlessly as well. Fly low over a planet, without using your pulse engines, and there's a good chance you'll find something below you that will catch your eye for you to go explore!

Don't be afraid to just wander about, you'll find something interesting eventually.
