Whats your CPU? and what are your temps underload, if you dont know how to get those just download HWmonitor and have it open on another screen while u play, or in the back round. Play for a few min till your temps get up.

If it runs good at everyones house but yours id check to things, the simple one here is to test it in a open space where the air is room temp (70F) or even colder and give it good air flow, maybe put a desk fan and see it it cools it down any. Next if that doesnt fix it id assume it has...

i fixed it by using a different hard drive

it sounds like the computer shut itself off however it could have taken damage with the sudden lack of air flow i will look around and get back to you however
