Hi there,

My PC keeps crashing when playing games; I'm think it's related to my GPU. It started when playing Fifa 17 on PC, I kept getting a DirectX error device has been removed error. I tried GTA 5 but now the launcher will not respond despite it working before and now Rocket league, my device drivers keep crashing and not responding. I have to open task manager and then return to the game for it to work again and then it will crash after 10 seconds have passed. When viewing YouTube videos, my primary monitor flickers on and off continually until I click off the video.

I've downclocked my GPU to see if that works, it still does not. I've done a complete reinstallation of my GPU drivers from the Nvidia website and still it does not work.

PC specs:

Intel i7 4770k
8GB RAM
GTX 780
120GB SSD
500GB x 2 in RAID 0 for games

As I said, I'm thinking my GPU is dying and that it's time to buy a new one. Any suggestions on what to do?

I'd try to install that GPU in another system, a friend or relative's system, to see if it is the GPU. I'd also suspect the power supply. Is it an old one? A 780 sucks up a lot of power, you need to make sure the PSU is not giving out especially under load. Don't get anything less than a 1060 if you wind up getting a new card.

I have tried using the older drivers and still did not work, so I then just uninstall it completely and reinstalled it with the new updated version but it still did not work.

I was just playing a game again, and I got white flashes/pixels on my game and my game froze. I had a sound that sounded like it was vibrating and it was on a continuous loop until I closed the game via task manager. I think the GPU is dead?
