Was able to fix it.
The Ventus 3X 4070 has a proprietary power adapter that comes with instructions saying to connect it to two separate PCIe power cables. It’s stresses NOT to use one PCIe cable with two branched outputs.
The PC doesn’t boot unless you connect the 4070ti in the exact way the...
Yes I installed all my drivers before attempting the upgrade. I haven’t updated the BIOS in a while but it doesn’t really matter since the motherboard doesn’t even begin to power up until the card is unpowered.
Just decided to upgrade my system a bit. Got a new PSU and a new GPU.
My old specs were:
ASrock B550M Steel Legend
Ryzen 9 3950x
RTX 2070 Super
Corsair CX750F
RAM 32GB (2x16) GSkill TridentZ 3200
My new specs are:
Ryzen 9 3950x
RTX 4070 TI MSI Ventus 3x
Corsair RM850X

So back in August 2020 I purchased an RTX 2070 Super. It worked really well in my build at the time, and has always been able to drive my monitors + HTC Vive without issues. In January of this year, I built an entirely new machine, and used the same card. The specs are:
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
ASRock...
I finally found the issue today... if you have just one too many files on your Desktop... Windows 10 will hang on any windows explorer related task for AGES. Just clearing up the Desktop fixes the problem completely...
Alright I'm at my wits end regarding this issue. A couple years back, one of my HDDs died, and it wasn't a big deal. It had no important files, and honestly I was just waiting for it to die eventually anyways. However, shortly after it died my system started experiencing problems. Boot times...
If your machine is going to be doing hard multi-threaded tasks like video rendering then it's worth the difference.
However from a gaming aspect, faster than 3200 isn't much of a difference.
Ah I see, so your ram is probably running at 2400. GPU pricing is really bad right now, but if you can get an extra 50$ in that budget you can buy a 1060 AMP from zotac right now for 350...
Do you have any way of retrieving a POST code? Also RAM problems could cause this same issue, so make sure the modules are intact, the pins are clean, and the channels don't have any bad pins or debris in them
Well, I see an immediate problem. You're going to try running a 3070 on a 650W PSU, which technically can be done on paper, but it'll cause you alot of crashing problems when the card tries to draw more power for certain tasks. So I'd definitely shoot higher, 750 at least. Secondly AMD is...
It sounds like an issue with the actual hardware connection. Have you tried reseating the GPU on your board? Also how long have you had the 2080 Super?
