No worries.I use only the TX and gold and platinum psus from Corsair.I never go less than 850 watts.Highest I've gone is 1000 watts HX by Corsair.I prefer everything in my systems to run comfortably. Just this 650 TX I've never opened and hoped it could be used for this 480. Happy it can :)

How could I test to see if it"s cpu related aside from using another working cpu? Being that it's most likely the CPU and system is about as old as the 480 Fermi, would buying a used processor be the way to go and if so could you recommend a reputable vendor that sells used i7960 used processors?
