Question Undervolting issue with a 7700HQ core

This laptop is 1.5 years old. Its actually a very thick laptop and is supposed to have good cooling. I had the heatsink repasted with MX-4 also. The motherboard was replaced with a new one as the temps kept reaching 100C and thermal throttling kept occurring on the old one. The new motherboard...

Question Undervolting issue with a 7700HQ core

I have been having some issues with my laptop (Inspiron 7567) including thermals so I have been undervolting it. Its been fine on all my stress tests up to -0.120mv (haven't tried further). The issue is when its on idle, my lately laptop will randomly restart. It is very obvious on battery. If...

Question 7567 fan squeaks when turns off

When I open the back of the case and have the fans run, it still makes that noise and I can't see it hitting anything. The squeak noise first started after a clean install (both fans make it). Before that it did not make the noise, that's why I wondered if it was a software issue. For the...

Question 7567 fan squeaks when turns off

I have been having some problems with my Inspiron 7567, to the point where I did a clean install. Since then when ever the fans stops and sometimes when they start up I hear a chirp/squeak noise. I don't think its the hardware, because since the noise started, I've swapped motherboard...

    Question Inspiron 7567 Overheating

I just had the motherboard, heatsink, fan and thermal paste replaced by a dell technician today. I haven't done any gaming yet to see how it responds, but the stress test is back below 90C (it still power throttles unless I undervolt, but it may have always done it and I just didn't notice)...

Contemplating buying the MSI PS63, but have some questions.

I have been having some overheating issues with my DELL inspiron 7567 (keeps hitting 100C under stress tests which it shouldn't) and am contemplating getting a new laptop. I was wondering how it compares to the MSI PS63 (Core i7-8565U, GTX 1650). I don't care about the weight, screen quality or...

Question Accidentally increased voltage to my laptop. Did I damage it?

I don't think I'll buy a dell again after my experience with this one. Tomorrow is service 17.

    Question XTU tests for undervolting

I have been trying to undervolt my CPU (-0.110mv) to reduce the abnormally high temps my laptop (Inspiron 7567, i7 7700HQ core, 1050ti, 16GB RAM). I have no experience in under/over clocking. This has decreased the temp, however, I am having some trouble testing for stability and find the...

Question Accidentally increased voltage to my laptop. Did I damage it?

There is no dust in my laptop. Its been taken apart for about 16 services now, so its always clean.

    Question Inspiron 7567 Overheating

Can you buy a digital temperature sensor? Although I probably wouldn't know what I'm looking at. I do know its not the GPU as that never goes above 70C. I was just wondering about the motherboard as I was wondering if all those little coils can get damaged and can't transmit heat correctly or...

Is it possible the motherboard could be a cause of high temperatures?

Question Accidentally increased voltage to my laptop. Did I damage it?

I'm having the thermal paste done tomorrow, although the technician doubts that's the cause. What do you mean by avoiding the vcore?

Question Accidentally increased voltage to my laptop. Did I damage it?

I started undervolting because temps kept reaching 100C under load, so definitely not going to deliberately over-volt. I was just worried that the extra voltage might of damaged something (when I'm already having major laptop issues)
