Your monitor will have no issue with your gpu, it will hook up no problem with a hdmi cable, and it will work well.

It won't work, with nvidia you need the same gpu not just the same series.

There really isn't much available in Australia that I can see online, a 280x is the best I can find in your price range, the 290's are hard to find and expensive. You might be better waiting for the 300 series and seeing if you get more options.

With a 980ti I would go for a 1440p screen, it's a bit of a waste at 1080p.
