CTS Labs Speaks: Why It Blindsided AMD With Ryzenfall And Other Vulnerabilities

More than fishy. The company they partnered with has a financial stake in this, and the "vulnerabilities" that they are talking about all require elevated access with local admin, and access to the PC. These exact same "vulnerabilities" could be taken advantage of on an Intel machine. You...

I am not what size the install package of firefox is, but from my understanding it just launches and then reaches out to the internet. You may be able to email him the file. Or Start a One Drive or Drop box account, place the package in there, then have him copy it from there. I am not sure...

PC randomly reboots (no overheating / no BSOD)

Have you looked into the Windows Event Logs to check it out? You didn't post your whole specs, but using http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/ you are at like 500W, so more then likely you are correct in your assumption that it is your PSU. I would upgrade to 600+W to be on the...

Two six-pin PCI-e connectors from two molex, using an adapter

Not sure what your spending limit is. But you are still borderline with required power. If you are on a budget, the Corsair CX series are pretty nice. You can get the CX650-M for 69.99$ (US)

    fixing a dead psu

The capacitors man. You blew the capacitors. The problem is that in a PSU you won't know which blew, or how many (there are a lot) so each would have to be desoldered from the PSU tested, find out how many need replacing, and then replaced and everything soldered back in. The cost of doing...

    PSU compatibility question

PC parts picker will give you a warning if your parts are incompatible, including if your PSU is not strong enough. I'd get rid of the stock PSU anyways. You can get some decent cheap power supplies. COrsair makes some nice bronze series. If you still have questions you can always use a...

    fixing a dead psu

I would take one of the GPU's out. The AMD GPU's are power hogs. With it running for a few minutes before shutting down, I would either suspect that it is hitting a point where there is a major power draw and it is maxing out the PSU and causing it to shut down, or the AMD cards also run very...

External storage backplane device with no controller or logic?

Hey all, I have a bunch of SSDs (8+) of varying sizes that I would like to put into an external housing of some sort. Due to the varying sizes and also wanting to just play around with storage spaces in a non-production environment, I'm looking for a housing that is just pretty much a backplane...

    GPU non-reference rankings?

Anyone know a website that has rankings of GPU's by benchmarks for the non-reference cards? As an example, looking for all the different non-reference 780's or 780 ti's by score? Or 290x's by score? The reason I am wondering is if you actually look at some of the tests of the 290x matrix...

    Replacing my broken GPU.

What is your motherboard. You might need to update the bios to get it to work. It sounds like your onboard has been turned off. What i would do clear the cmos. That should get your onboard working. To do that google "mobo model clear cmos" then update your bios.
