There's really no way to tell. LGA 1151 could stick around for a while, or it could be replaced in just two generations. I would go with AMD's AM4 if I were you, it's been said that AM4 will stick around for several generations.

It's a GTX 1050? Paired with an i7?? Besides that, have you checked if your laptop is plugged into power while playing? Sometimes that's the issue. Or try turning your settings down. Make sure your laptop isn't set to run games on integrated graphics, that's also a very common issue.
