Question browser won't open pages..just stalls

OP...I have tried clearing cache, but no results. I have noticed that if Private Internet Access VPN is running, the problem appears more often; that's the reason I suspected memory. I'll try creating a new Firefox profile. Thanks for the response

Question browser won't open pages..just stalls

Often, when I try to open a web page, the page does not open. I need to exit Firefox, and restart; sometimes the problem persists. Do I need to increase memory? Other ideas? Thanks. HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF Intel i7-4790 @3.60 GHz 8GB Ram 64-bit OS Windows 7

I created a restore point on my Windows 7 PC. Then I installed adobe flash. When I visit some pages (e.g., mail.com), I receive two messages which alternate. Neither stays on the screen long enough to read the entire thing. Here are the messages: -Warning-Unresponsive Plugin. May be busy or...

Wipe the Recycle bin with Eraser

My goal is to wipe the Recycle Bin in Windows 7 so that files are really gone. Software called Eraser claims it is able to do this. I have tried other software, but been told that I do not have permission. Does anyone have experience with Eraser or other software that could wipe the Recycle...

    Best Gaming Laptop

My grandson loves computer gaming. His uncle built him a great desktop but he does not want to take that to college. SO...he wants a super laptop for gaming (and maybe assignments.) Top priority is gaming. Without being cheap, I would like a recommendation for a fantastic gaming laptop. The...

    Is Clonezilla safe?

I am looking for software to create an images of my PCs. This would permit total recovery of a PC, should it crash. I tried Acronis, but in my case it could not handle Windows 7 (many other people had the same experience.) Clonezilla claims to be capable, but some web sites say it has...

    Intel ME Service

Yes...I did not explain myself well, however. Other Intel services are identified as "Intel Corporation" under the manufacturer column. I just wondered if the lack of consistent company identification might indicate the service might be illegitimate.

    Intel ME Service

I see an "Intel ME Service" in MSConfig/SystemConfiguration/Services. The column titled 'manufacturer' says 'unknown.' Is this service legitimate? Seems like Intel would take one more opportunity to identify itself.

64-bit instruction set VS 32-bit physical address extensions

I plan to put PC-BSD on a Dell optiplex 745 with [per Dell's specs] a 2.8GHz Intel Pentium D Dual Core processor. I cannot find a processor with that name on Intel's ARK list, but I did find "Intel® Pentium® D Processor 820 (2M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)." I ASSUME this is the same...

Will Pentium D CPU 2.80 GHz with 3.24 GB Ram support Windows 7

Thanks for the info. Not what I wanted to hear, but so it goes. It is kind of a black eye for Intel and Dell. Windows 7 became available in 2009. This PC was built in 2007. Talk about planned obsolence!

My computer is a Dell Optiplex 745 with a Pentium D CPU, 2.80 GHz and 3.24 GB RAM. I want to install Windows 7 (currently, it has XP). Can I use a 64 bit version of Windows 7? Will this processor support VMWare? ... the goal is to run a virtual machine with XP so some old software will...
