[SOLVED] Motherboard fails to post with 1 long, 3 short beeps

Another update: I tried using a much older, simpler, Quadro GPU I had laying around, and that worked flawlessly... As that one doesn't have a power connector, and the other graphics cards that did need an additional power connector didn't work with the system, I realized I should've been smarter...

[SOLVED] Motherboard fails to post with 1 long, 3 short beeps

Quick update: Tried swapping CPUs (using a 3700X instead of the 5600X) and nothing changed... BUT Now using a different GPU makes it post without any problems, even though the GPU that is causing problems (RTX 3060) in the new system works fine in a different system... So it's either the mobo or...

[SOLVED] Motherboard fails to post with 1 long, 3 short beeps

So to clear the GPU thing out. On the new system none of the two GPUs worked (the 3060 ti and a 1070 ti), but they both work fine on a different system. The PSU is a Seasonic 650W that's brand new, voltages should be alright. And the RAM (CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16) was on the QVL list so it should work...

[SOLVED] Motherboard fails to post with 1 long, 3 short beeps

Thanks for the reply! The weird thing is, I tried to solve most of these things by using different RAM and RAM slots, and a different GPU that works perfectly fine... Something I'm missing? I also just did some 3dmark benchmarks on the new GPU and it ran fine without errors.

[SOLVED] Motherboard fails to post with 1 long, 3 short beeps

Hi all! Two days ago I built a system for a friend (all new parts, see specs below) and today it started acting up, there was a weird line on the display and eventually it just black screened entirely. I had my fingers crossed it was just a display/cable issue but after spending hours after...

[SOLVED] Laptop not powering on after cleaning thermal paste

Hi all! I just cleaned the thermal paste of a laptop, (using isopropyl alcohol, as usual) there was way too much and it was everywhere. After doing that and putting some fresh thermal paste and the heatsink/fan back on it would not power on at all. Led won't light up, no fan spin, nothing. Only...

[SOLVED] Upgraded from Ryzen 1600X to 3700X, POST and idle temps issues (C6H)

Thanks for the tip! Right now the problem kinda faded away, but if it happens again I'll try that. Even though it would surprise me my PSU failed. I got a 750W Seasonic Prime gold which is pretty high quality

[SOLVED] Upgraded from Ryzen 1600X to 3700X, POST and idle temps issues (C6H)

Thanks for the reply! And I already did most of these multiple times. And I doubt it's windows related since it happens even when I reset after saving my bios settings. Sometimes it just gives qcode 8 instantly

[SOLVED] Upgraded from Ryzen 1600X to 3700X, POST and idle temps issues (C6H)

Hi! Thanks for the reply! I updated the bios before upgrading, of course. I used the flashback tool because it was acting up, not posting etc. But didn't help much. I read the manual before using it, since I rarely use it. So I surely did it correctly. I will try again tomorrow after the night...

[SOLVED] Upgraded from Ryzen 1600X to 3700X, POST and idle temps issues (C6H)

Hi all, I just upgraded from my old Ryzen 1600X CPU to a new 3700X. I'm using a Crosshair VI Hero as a motherboard. I thought this was going to be plug and play since the 3700X is listed under supported CPUs And I have the latest bios. Sadly it went the other way, at random times it just won't...

    [SOLVED] Dead pixel?

Thanks for the reply! And the pixel was not black on a some white background, but on others it was. Made me almost certain it's a software thing, so after giving DDU a try it was gone. I don't know where it came from or how it happened, but I guess it's fixed now.

    [SOLVED] Dead pixel?

This weird blck dot appeared on my screen, and it has some black "glow" to it. Here's some pictures I took, one being zoomed in a lot to show each individual pixel. To me it does not look like a pixel that's dead.

[SOLVED] PC won't detect my external SSD. Could it because I installed a new motherboard?

I assume you're using Windows, does it detect any other USB storage devices like a simple thumb drive? It could be a setting in your BIOS under the USB controller options, you might check if there's anything turned off there.

Question Laptop constantly turning on and off

Thanks for replying! It's an Asus Vivobook n580v. And I did almost all of those thing, didn't find the CMOS battery though. But I managed to do a full bios reset when it was still somewhat working. And when I power it up with only the battery it goes on and immediately back off but it doesn't...

[SOLVED] Pc mother board has light but pc wont start

If you got no ram at all installed it's completely normal it won't work at all. Your motherboard can't post without ram, and defenitely not boot into anything.
