They are brand new matching sticks. I have replaced them with Corsair 3200 ram and it didnt seem to make a difference. So I switched back to the Teamforce 3200 ram thinking that the problem must be elsewhere.

Has anyone experienced this before? Hoping for somewhere to look.

Got it! It was in fact the DCR you mentioned. disabling this allowed the brightness to stay constant. @velocityg4 you nailed it and I am very grateful that you replied and help me resolve this issue.

I made the changes you suggest but the problem remains. For instance if I am in a dark area of a game, the screen dims even more until you cant barely see anything. When its bright area, it brightens even more. This must be a setting, but for the life of me cant see what it might be.

Update: enabling HDR in windows stops the dimming but seems to mute the colors a bit. Will try your suggestions and get back to you.

Update: If I enable HDR in Windows the problem goes away. Though it seems to mute the colors somewhat. Any ideas?

I have a new build using the MSI z97 gaming 7. In my prior builds the USB ports continue to feed power to devices when the system is off. This is no longer the case. Thank you Kap however it just says "go here" without any link or idea of where "here" is. I did manage to find the site thru trial and error but it shows old Bios, not the newer one listed on Gigabytes site. Can anyone please tell me how to find what F version I have?

I have tried different ports and connection types with the same result. my bios version is 84.04.28.00.4D. But when I look here http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5209&dl=1&RWD=0#bios it shows updates based on the F version I have. How can I tell?

I am talking about my graphics card bios, not the motherboard.
