Lag on Games that doesn't need good specs ! ( ?? ) HEELPP!!!

If it doesn't demand high CPU, RAM and GPU specs it's probably your mobo chipset. But I haven't looked into that so I don't know for sure but it's what I assume

Several Questions about Monitor, GPU and BF4

Oh and #4 also; A 1ms screen vs a 6ms IPS is just a matter of adaptiveness. The LAN ms delay (20-120ms, depends on the server) is the most annoying. The milllliiiiseconds of screenrespons is just a matter of practise!

Several Questions about Monitor, GPU and BF4

I can only awnser question #3; No. A 280X won't be enough for 1440p @ ultra 60fps. 2 of them is barely enough. i know becaus I had two of them and switched to a single 970 , which can handle those settings without jetengine sounds :)

    GPU not detected

Also, check your bios and make sure that the dedicated graphics are set to PCI-e, which it probably isn't now since it's sendig display throught the vga on the mobo ;)

My Screen turns into long vertical blocks and occasionally flickers.

Nvm read thought the specs lol, I think the GPU is faulty then, or the monitor is. Is this happening even when you're only within Windows itself? If it happens when the GPU is under load it probably is the GPU.

Seems that your GPU isn't powered enough. What is the PSU you're using? It could also be the vCore voltage of the GPU

Does higher resolution mean more detail

Ingame, YES. I myself have a 1440p 27" monitor and it gives you a sharper overall view. it's the same as comparing a 720p display to a 1080p. You do have to use a GPU that is up for the job. As far as I know no GTX 980 is up for 4k @ 60fps gaming.

    Computer Build (Inexperienced)

Patriot, I'm not saying you're wrong at all on any aspect. That's why I asked OP what the main use is gonna be. The only thing I stated is that a (perhaps more expensive) base gives you more headroom to upgrade and get a longer lifespan out of the mobo and cpu. We both know a APU isn't as good...

    Worries about Asus R9 290 DC2 ?

Please, just look at the GTX 970 series. It's MUCH quetier and perfoms the same as a 290X if not better. I myself got a Strix 970 and it is truely awesome

    Computer Build (Inexperienced)

What's the main use of the PC for starters? I usally recommend any i5 or FX 8core for normal 'use' PC, because with such a base you can also upgrade to a gaming state (with the right mobo), and so you'll be able to get a longer lifespan. BUT if you want a cheap, acceptable PC you're good to go :)

overclocking the Asus GTX 970 Strix

I don't know how other people are getting +1500 core clocks with their Strixs since it only has 1 powerconnector. I have one myselft, ASIC quality 62%, A RM850 PSU on a ROG mobo and I can't get mine further than 1465 core due to the powerphases. Don't get me wrong, I love this card and it's...
