Build Advice It's finally time for a new video editing build

Just following up on this - these are pretty great in-budget builds. I'll also be keeping my Noctua NHD15 and RTX 3070 which obviously saves a fair chunk (sorry I should've said that previously) and go for 128Gb (4 x 32) RAM.

Nice and mechanical (AU site sorry) https://www.swamp.net.au/sescom-ses-trrs-ab-passive-3.5mm-trrs-a-b-switcher Otherwise - can you run 2 outputs from your PC and use a software switch like 'Audio Switcher'? Otherwise maybe a local elec shop may have the bits to make - it's a pretty easy rig.

hate to raise a thread from the dead BUT just wanted top come back to add - after 10 years of pretty much 24/7 on (and probably 7-12 daily under working conditions) this Seasonic has never missed a beat. Retiring for another SS for a new build, but just wanted to add this post of confidence on...

Build Advice It's finally time for a new video editing build

Thanks for all the detailed info there mate, much appreciated. Ye def going 4 stick pack with the RAM. I've been sitting here with DDR3 1300 for years and working fine so honestly going to DDR5 4800 will be a massive jump anyhoo. Kind of thinking that abou tthe chip to be honest. Going from my...

Build Advice It's finally time for a new video editing build

Thanks man. Have edited based on your guide, much appreciated. PSU is the original, so 10years old. The RAID0 is a price thing - 2 x 2TB Barracuda much cheaper than a 4TB nvme. That said, I'm probably just hanging onto the 2xHDD RAID as a legacy thought rather than a practical one (aside cost)...

Hey all, 10 years down the line and thinking it's about time for an upgrade (out of necessity as slowdowns/more 4K multicam jobs etc and funds now available) - so, previous system which has lasted the 10 years (save for some additional drives and upgrading from a GTX970 to a 3070 couple of years...

[SOLVED] Nervous to upgrade from win8.1Pro - win10

Hey Folks, Been running a home built editing (video/audio) PC on Win8.1 Pro (using start8 to stop the gumby tile thing) for the past 6 years or so and it's just working so so nicely I'm loathe to upgrade it to Win10 but I'm starting to feel like a bit of a dinosaur and finding some software is...
