    Question x11sra died w/5 beeps

SuperMicro tech support says the unit will not turn on without a processor/fan. No other components necessary. If I ground the front panel power on pin, absolutely nothing happens (not even a small flinch of the fan). If I then ground the PS-ON pin on the power connector, the fans (power...

    Question SQL License

I licensed it 2 years ago and I'm not onsite, so I couldn't guess. It's probably not a volume license since it's a single machine for a small office.

    Question x11sra died w/5 beeps

Manual says I need two, and that doesn't help. I've also closely inspected all the electrolytic caps and I don't see any bulging and don't measure any shorts.

    Question x11sra died w/5 beeps

Even with zero, the fan should turn on, shouldn't it? I had 8 sticks, but I tred 0, but I see if 1 helps.

    Question SQL License

I'm replacing the M/B in my server (with the same model) and am wondering whether my SQL License will transport or if it's tied to some secret info associated with the m/b hardware. I'm hoping the disks all move across intact. If it won't move transparently, is there a mechanism to abandon a...

    Question x11sra died w/5 beeps

the five beeps aren't happening anymore. I've measured all the voltage inputs to the board, and they all act like capacitors (no shorts or opens). Two different power supplies fail to turn on (and the PG signal remains false). I can't measure an current surge at turn on on all the power...

    Question Mystery connection loss

Triggered by my initial email, I took a fresh reboot, connected the VPN, disconnected the VPN, and then verified the network was up. The VPN adapter does not appear in the Interface List of the route table and the extra IVP6 entry is not there, so I'll look into removing an entry from the...

    Question Mystery connection loss

Latest Win10 version, wired desktop. My desktop runs a batchfile every night that connects an L2TP Vpn (using MS built-in) to the office, transfers some files, then disconnects the VPN (using RASDIAL). Occasionally, my internet connection is bad the following morning. I can log into my router...

[SOLVED] Tethering into my router via laptop?

I've got everything working by doing the following: 1) Bought a GL-mt300n-V2 travel router ($19 on Amazon) Discovered the LAN config restricts the IP values to 10.0, 192.168. addresses, which doesn't allow me to mimic my modem. Updated the factory firmware with OpenWRT open source stuff...

[SOLVED] Tethering into my router via laptop?

We have a commercial router (Mikrotik 1100H4) and it does support up to 12 WANs. The problem is that the outages are rare, so having a dedicated cell modem is hard to justify. It's a very small rural private medical practice, and even $50/mo is expensive insurance. I guess no one wants to...

[SOLVED] Tethering into my router via laptop?

I don't think the problem is with the tether, it a problem with multiple computers needing internet connectivity for the app to operate. The client opens a patient record on the server, and the server accesses eligibility and insurance records on the vendors site, then as the client modifies...

[SOLVED] Tethering into my router via laptop?

My wife's small office has a Mikrotik router that connects to our DSL ISP. Unfortunately, the ISP has rare, but long, outages whenever a car hits a pole or they screw something else up. Out model of router does not support USB. The office runs an EHR Windows app that uses several local...
