Is it OC version? if it is, you don't have to overclock it. you will not get any big performance or fps. But you can be able to play some games in high settings at 1080p or ultra at 720p (stock clock)

Check again all the components of motherboard if installed properly.

You should keep your windows product key at the back of your laptop (sticker) before you give to repair shop, they can steal it from you. follow what Paul NZ said.

You can install but you need to format first the HDD. Or you can do a Disk Migration. I think your New SSD has a manual on how to migrate to a SSD without reinstalling windows.

You mean you cant boot to cd/dvd or USB to install windows in BIOS?

For your laptop. as for now, just set your game at low settings, low resolution, so you could play a bit smoother. forgot upgrading your laptop's gpu, coz I have also Acer Aspire. So I decided to build a desktop which I can choose what components I want for my build.

Actually there so many reason why the computer is freezing, sometimes its hard to detect what is the cause. maybe due to the components, like RAM, GPU, motherboard it self, PSU etc,, Sometimes Windows (OS) is one of the reason. Reinstalling might solve the issue of freezing just like my desktop...

Do you monitor temperature of your CPU and GPU when you are playing games? maybe your temp is to high and makes a buzz sound. if to high temp. fans will run too fast and maybe that buzz sound you are hearing.

Did you boot on windows 7 before you format windows 8 in disc management? Is it one HDD with 2 partition?

Are you using USB mouse and keyboard? I have the same problem with my usb gaming mouse, but not in my keyboard coz im using an old ps/2 keyboard. Maybe my usb mouse is not good product. I still don't know what causing this problem.
