If a mother board has the capability to oc ram to 3000mhz. Will the motherboard read a 3000mhz kit as 3000mhz right after you install?

    Upgrading pc. 1070 plus 9600k

At the moment I have a 6600k paired with a 1070. 8gb of ddr4 2133. I did have 16gb, but one burnt out. I want to upgrade to a 9600k with my 1070 and also get 16gb of ddr4 3000mhz ram. Will that cpu and gpu combo push 1440p at a decent frame rate?

    What do you think?

Building a 1080p gaming pc for a friend. Around $500. This is what I have so far. Any suggestions on part changes? Thanks in advance. (I have a power supply at home that will work) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

    Cpu overclock wait or upgrade

Yeah im aware of the need for a z370 board to oc the 8600k. As for power and cooling on my current rig I’m definitely fine. I’ve got a Corsair h110 v2 on my cpu atm. As well as a ridiculous 1000w psu from when I had crossfire 290x amd cards. I have upgraded to a gtx 1070 since then. My case is a...

I’m in the United States. I actually checked with my local Best Buy and their geek squad can do bios updates for me if needed.

    Thoughts on this build

Definitely makes sense. I’ll look into that. She was going to use this for things such as word documents so maybe an ssd wouldn’t be a bad idea. Plus I could always add an hdd if needed.

    Thoughts on this build

This pc is for my mother. She needed a desktop and figured I would build her one for mother’s day. I opted for the ryzen 5 2400g over a ryzen 1200 and an rx 560. I checked the motherboard and reviews say it’s ready for the new amd apus out of the box. Build...
