Completely agree with ChumP - PSU is one of the components you DONT want to cheap out on if any. Like you said it yourself, dont want it to fry your other components! Check the Corsair TX series too, i have the TX650M. Never failed me ad i think its slightly more reputable than the CX series...

Currently, you're build is certainly good for 1440p, however if you wish play at this res on future games and eventually move to 4K, i'd recommend upgrading to at least an 8700k first. Same generation so you wont hve to change your board and i feel your CPU will bottleneck your system before...

Thanks for your reply, I managed to find out what had happened. For some reason when i used Samsungs own migration tool, it didnt copy over all Windows Partitions.. DOH! Not great software from Samsung but im glad its resolved. Fresh install did it.

I think the i5 is a lot better than the i3. GPU wise the 580 isnt too bad, so id go with that.
