Looking to upgrade my mobo, processors, and maybe others with a USD500 budget

They are basically the same except for parts used and warranties. XFX gives lifetime warranties. Yes, it would be a significant upgrade. But don't throw out the DDR2 RAM. Sell it later. It's like a novelty now.

    1. Did you know that it's just under $500 with Amazon and newegg? 2. He listed the items in newegg, so that's probably where he's buying it from.

    New computer build advice, gaming

Well, I wouldn't go with the CPU as it's only slightly faster than the 3470, that MoBo you want is for unlocked processors, the RAM is fast and cheap, added an SSD, better card (imo), better case (imo) and cheaper PSU. I don't know any Denmark stores, but this is the build I recommend. If you...

    New Photo Build (Quiet)

Controller differences. Although people think Sandforce is unstable and whatnot, it's been doing good, but the 840 PRO's controller is better. If you want a slightly faster and more reliable one for the extra cost, get the Samsung.

I want to buy a gaming laptop for my son - budget of $1,000 USD - help please

650M runs off of DDR3. My mistake. I would like to use 8x FXAA in low demanding games to get better quality. So it's better. Arguably. I wouldn't want to overclock on a laptop, just because it's not meant to handle temps.
